A really nice day!heh although it got to a shakey start..for starters I missed 3 buses to the mrt cos they were crammed full of scgs & sji people. & someone was late meeting me. haha:) but you were worth the wait la of course:)

me and cindy went to this jap place at marina square for lunch today..still can't quite recall the name of the place..but what I do remember is that the food there was pretty yummy:) anyway me and cindy had a nice lunch laughing about the silliest things, from the weird garlic-looking fish eggs on my rice, to her salmon rice entirely wrapped in seaweed which made eating it pretty tough. the stuff these is kinda fusion I guess:) but the best part was dessert! haha I managed to remember that I had my camera before we gobbled down our ice-cream with mango milk..



It's like mango-flavoured ice kachang with ice cream, only tons better:)

we spent awhile savouring our dessert, enjoying green tea & just talking..heh :) afterward we went shoe-shopping, scouting for random stuff around marina square, & outlined our next possible food escapade targets. haha & xinli you can join us the next time!:) you were missed today:) Yay hopefully the next couple of months will pass by in a whiz..

Was pretty full after lunch, but then dinner followed not too much later at queensway. haha oh and for those who haven't tried it yet, the avocado milkshake at queensway is good! heh thanks for the recommendation cindy! the weirdly bright green colour of the drink doesn't look too appetising..but I like it:) hope you enjoyed dinner lionel:) sorry I can't be here for your real birthday.

It's wednesday night & I'm once again over at my sister's :) It's been a heck of a fun weeek & I realise I'm going back in 3 days. But ohwell, considering I didn't plan to come back at all in the first place, it's been a really really great couple of weeks :)

I'm really tanned now, a result of a day spent at sentosa playing volleyball & a day spent at the birdpark. Haha yes I actually went to Jurong bird park today. Seems like a really touristy thing to do but I got free admission in so it would have been a waste not to go..and it really is pretty nice now! It's alot bigger than it looks from the outside and I never realised how many colours and shapes birds come in..and my now favourite birds are lories (haha I never heard of them before today)..they're colourful, fast & really sociable :) there was an entire enclosed walk-in aviary dedicated to them alone..and instead of exhibiting normal bird-like cowardly behaviour, the lories actually fly towards you & they don't seem the least bit afraid if you approach them :) heh so friendly:) oh and I had no idea how big ostriches really are..they look kind of dumb though.

and I finally visited smu yesterday..feels alot more like a shopping arcade than a school though..lots of long air-conditioned corridors and even a maybelling shop! are they promoting use of makeup at uni or what? anyway it was great to see you yesterday nadine :)

hope I don't start to peel. I sort of forgot to apply sunblock lotion at sentosa, cos it was gray, hazy and drizzly in the morning..but thankfully the rain clouds disappeared later in the morning..heh volleyball was really fun! sentosa's undergone alot of changes as well since I was last there..& I always enjoy volleyball with the guys :)

haha my sister was just in here fussing with my bedsheets..she always gives me royal treatment here..adding little touches like tealights in the bathroom and even chocolates on my pillow! heh:) anyway I'm off to bathe now:)

Happy birthday jeh:) yay so glad to have gotten the chance to come back home for your birthday:) anyway, no words can express my thanks for everything you've done for me..love ya:)


It's been a really great weekend..and thanks to cindy for the help and company in helping me buy the birthday present..haha I finally got to meet cindy! whom I feel like I haven't seen in ages..haha but it was great talking to you again. haha and I think I am really lousy in trying to bargain. but she liked it in the end! heh think we made the right choice.

anyway as you can see, I finally got around to doing something with my hair..I finally realised how long it had gotten this last semester..it was always getting into my food or into the sink when I brushed my teeth..haha and I wanted to try something different..and conveniently my mom knew a budding hairdresser-in-training who was doing cheap stuff..so I got a perm!


eh I think it looks better from the back than from the front though. heh.

heh I'm at this moment sitting on a mattress in the study/guest room of my sister's new place..I can hear the sound of kids playing and of buses and cars on the road below..though some may find it noisy I think it gives the place a certain homely feeling to it:) and living on the 26th floor entitles her to a nice view of singapore in all directions..I can see the city through the window from where I'm sitting now..heh there were even fireworks last night from the closing ceremony of the IMF conference..though I'm sure they don't compare to the ones you saw in disneyland xinli:)

anyway right now I'm off to vegetate in front of the television..my sister's current favorite cable channels are the food channel and the hollywood entertainment channel..haha nothing like trashy mindless entertainment gossip. I'm amazed they can even find enough programs to fill the entire day..

heh and so the exam's finally over..thought it was pretty tough in a tricky way..& I wonder how some people actually manage to finish studying everything..but no matter, it's over and done with:)

Flight back was long but relatively comfortable..though the lady next to me took up three seats and I had her feet directed toward my face for most of the flight..I wonder how the air stewardesses manage to keep smiling for the entire flight..and sometimes I can tell that their smiles feel forced but they have to keep smiling simply cos it's their job. Must be tiring.

anyway, flights back home always feel good no matter the service or food or crappy in-flight entertainment cos I know that I'm heading towards home:) I towed home 20kg worth of notes this time in preparation for the plan to study at the end of the year for the big exam..haha had no idea how much notes I had accumulated in my less-than-two years in sydney so far. and I think I really need to get organised..haha I haven't exactly properly filed all my notes yet cos I dread having to punch all those holes..it would probably take me eons..

home feels different now..no buster or lucas and distinctly more quiet. but my sister's new place is so nice!heh and it's nice to think I've got another place to sleepover now:) I love what she did to the place. and her baby grand piano:) haha she was telling me how previously our neightbours' kids (a large portion are caucasian) would go, "Look mommy a cocker spaniel!" when they caught sight of buster..and now the kids living in her HDB block go "Look mommy! ow ow!" (to imitate the sound of a dog) haha I guess that sums up the difference in English capabilities between singaporeans and caucasians.

For those who don't know already..I'll be heading home this weekend:) it came as quite a surprise to me as well..thanks to my dad who got me a free ticket back home with his free flying mileage:)

maybe if I had known earlier that I would be heading home for the midsem break this semester wouldn't have seemed as depressing..but anyway, think I really am lucky. and spoilt.

I got caught in the crazy weather yesterday, twice I got drenched though I was carrying an umbrella around all day..by the time I took out my umbrella the rain had stopped. the thing about the rain here is that it comes and goes in intervals, and you never know when it's gonna hit..so I was just walking through campus when it suddenly started pouring, but in the next minute it was all sunny & bright once more. Then it happened again an hour later. I was freezing during band prac yesterday..It looks sunny today...but I'm guessing it won't last..

and as if thats not enough water for the day, I got drenched in my own bathroom last night, thanks to my stupidity..my shower tap has to be screwed really really tightly, or else it just drips & drips..so I had already finished my shower when I noticed I forgot to screw it shut..so I reached in all the way into the bathtub to tighten it but ended up turning it the wrong way and ended up spraying myself with alot of water though I had just taken a bath and had changed into nice dry clothes. sigh. stupid tap.

My week in a nutshell..

Concert at clancy..
Hailstorms..and the sound of the pelting rain against my window..
Numbing wind..
Walking into my toilet door..resulting in the bruise on my shin..
Mugging, mugging, mugging...
Surprises in the mailbox:)

Sorry for the lack of updates. feels like there's so much left to study :( ohwell.

The weather's been even weirder of late..with the sudden drop in temperature and crazy wind..it's made it harder to get out of bed from the safety & comfort of my blanket..

Concert on tuesday was good:) think our conductor really did a great job with us this time:) though I did make a couple of really stupid mistakes. Think I tend to cave more under pressure here.

okie. back to histology of the ovary. sigh. have a nice weekend everyone:)
