The wedding was incredible. There is no possible way to describe exactly my feelings when I saw my sister walk down the aisle. I was so happy for her. She looked so beautiful in her wedding dress and I had tears in my eyes when my dad kissed her on the cheek and gave her hand to Chris.
Anyway, lets start at the beginning of the day. We woke up at 630pm, when I blearily showered and packed up the house a bit, cos we would be having a ton of guests over that afternoon for the tea ceremony. The hair/make-up artist for my mom, me and qi arrived at 7. My mom looked great!Very young and pretty with her gelled-up wavy hair and yellow cheongsam:) The make-up artist gave me and qi funky hairdoes, using a big heap of bobby pins and hairspray. She was pretty professional and I liked her work:) But my elder sis was beauty queen for the day. She looked stunning in her simple but elegant wedding gown. But it wasn't just her outfit, hair and make-up which made her look so incredible. She just seemed to glow. The wedding ceremony was just perfect. The music was wonderful, and the readings were thought-provoking. I was glad to see her so happy after the stressful week of wedding planning. It was an experience for me as well, it being my first time being a bridesmaid. I felt a bit uncomfortable initially walking down the aisle, me and qi being the first 2 bridesmaids to lead the procession, but after that everything just seemed perfect. From the music to the homily to the exchange of vows. Definitely something I'll remember for a lifetime:) After the mass was photo-taking and lunch! We had catered a curry buffet, with curry and naan and nonya desserts!I had to be careful though eating cos my make-up was to last me the entire day. We then had to go down to bishan for the tea ceremony at chris's house. Heh my sister and chris drove off in the cutest wedding car I've ever seen!A 1961 MG they borrowed from a friend. So picture-perfect!Heh me and qi got to ride in the bridal car with ginny, another bridesmaid. Very fun. For some reason everyone gives way to a bridal car. So we went to bishan for the tea ceremony at chris's, then came back to my place for our own tea ceremony. Haha I received my first ang pow from chris and my elder sis. The day just seemed to fly by. Suddenly it was time to go to Copthorne Hotel to prep for the banquet. I had to go there earlier to make arrangements for the seating plan. So we checked in at about 5pm..there were 2 rooms..The hotel gave chris and gen a complimentary bridal suite for the night, plus one extra room for the helpers. Wow the bridal suite was cool!Great view, lotsa space, plus free chocolates, fruit basket, wedding cake, roses, inclusive of free lunch and dinner!Heh I was so reluctant to leave the room to go down to the banquet room to prepare for the dinner. I had enlisted the help of 4 other bridesmaids/groomsmen to help with informing people their table numbers. But it was still so busy!It took about an hour and a half before most of the guests were finally ushered to their respective seats. Somehow time seems to pass a lot more slowly when I'm a guest at a wedding waiting for dinner to start. Heh then it was start of the banquet dinner! My sister and chris made their grand entrance in a mist of dry ice. I was rushing around a bit at the time, getting late-comers to their seats and dealing with last minute problems that had cropped up, so I missed the cake-cutting and the first course. Heh but the food was great! As yummy as the food we'd tasted the night we had food-tasting. Everyone was pretty satisfied with the quality of the food:) I really enjoyed the banquet. My sister gave her speech to chris in the form of a piano piece. Her friends surprised her with an acapella item. The mood last night was just so joyful and celebratory. I'm really happy for her:) Haha and my mom's friend's are so happening. Copthorne is just behind Zouk, so they went there before coming to the wedding. They were so crazy, egging my mom to drink up and yumseng-ing at the top of their voices. A very fun bunch :) The night ended pretty late. Dessert (mango pudding!) was served near 11pm, but my mom's crazy friends didn't want to leave. Haha at the end of everything, I suddenly felt really tired. But really happy at the way the day had turned out:)I ended up sleeping at 3am last night! And I woke up at 9am to help my parents count angpows!I have never seen that much cash in my life before. And I was surprised that there were so many super generous people:) And my sister had another small party at home tonight to thank the wedding party. Good food and nice company. But I am so tired now. Haha its a good thing I didn't end up leaving tonight actually. At least now I've got a couple of days to recuperate. Haha oh wait. Batch chalet with the rgs girls tomorrow! oh and to people who don't know already, I'm leaving this wednesday night!unfortunately its a midnight flight. Yeah I'll be at the airport at about 10pm plus though to check in my boxes and luggage. Yawn. Good night all!:) weibin: Haha thanks for the advice. Its a good alternative to pepper spray:) mandy: See ya tmr!!:) nicole: I was a bit irritated that my student visa was so troublesome, but now I'm glad cos I got to stay for the wedding party!Plus batch chalet tmr!:)Hey dear you and nad may not have been from our batch, but we love having you around!:)erm and I'm not sure exactly how I changed the colour.
